Transverse spectra of hadrons at RHIC

چکیده
We present results on spectra of pions, kaons and (anti)protons from a study of heavy ion collisions using the perturbative QCD + saturation model to calculate the production of initial (transverse) energy and baryon number followed by a hydrodynamic description of the expansion of produced matter. In particular, we study how the hadron spectra and multiplicities depend on the decoupling temperature Tdec when the low temperature phase contains all hadrons and and hadron resonances with mass below 2 GeV. We show that the spectra and multiplicities of pions, kaons and (anti)protons measured at RHIC in central Au+Au collisions with √ s = 130 GeV can be obtained with a single decoupling temperature 150. . .160 MeV, common for both the chemical and the kinetic freeze-out.

Transverse Spectra of Hadrons in Central AA Collisions at RHIC and LHC from pQCD+Saturation+Hydrodynamics and from pQCD+Energy Losses
We study the transverse spectra of hadrons in nearly central AA collisions at RHIC and LHC in a broad transverse momentum range [1]. Low-pT spectra are calculated by using boost-invariant hydrodynamics with initial energy and net-baryon densities from the EKRT [2] pQCD+saturation model. High-pT spectra are obtained from pQCD jet calculation [3] including the energy loss of the parton [4] in the...
متن کاملScaling Properties of the Transverse Mass Spectra
Motivated from the formation of an initial state of gluon-saturated matter, we discuss scaling relations for the transverse mass spectra at BNL’s Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC). We show on linear plots, that the transverse mass spectra for various hadrons can be described by an universal function in mt. The transverse mass spectra for different centralities can be rescaled into each oth...
متن کاملDiagnosing Energy Loss: PHENIX Results on High-pT Hadron Spectra
Measurements of inclusive spectra of hadrons at large transverse momentum over a broad range of energy in different collision systems have been performed with the PHENIX experiment at RHIC. The data allow to study the energy and system size dependence of the suppression observed in RAA of high-pT hadrons at √ sNN= 200 GeV. Due to the large energy range from √ sNN= 22 GeV to 200 GeV, the results...
متن کاملSuppression of high transverse momentum hadrons at RHIC by (pre–) hadronic final state interactions
We investigate transverse hadron spectra from proton+proton, deuteron+Au and Au+Au collisions at √ s = 200GeV and √ s = 17.3GeV within the Hadron–String– Dynamics (HSD) approach which is based on quark, diquark, string and hadronic degrees of freedom as well as Pythia calculations for the high p⊥ spectra. The comparison to experimental data on transverse mass spectra from p+p, d+Au and Au+Au re...
متن کاملIdentified Particle Dependence of Nuclear Modification Factors in d+Au Collisions at RHIC
We present transverse momentum spectra from d+Au collisions at √ s NN = 200 GeV for identified hadrons at mid-rapidity and unidentified hadrons in the forward rapidity region using the Solenoidal Tracker at RHIC. We scale these spectra by the mean number of binary collisions to form a transverse momentum dependent ratio to spectra from p+p collisions, showing that the Cronin effect measured at ...
متن کاملOn the thermal nature of charmonium transverse momentum spectra from Au-Au collisions at RHIC
We discuss the transverse momentum distribution of J/ψ mesons produced in Au + Au collisions at the top RHIC energy. We argue that the data on the corresponding spectra do not necessarily imply an essential non-thermal J/ψ emission: the peculiarities of the spectra slopes at RHIC can be interpreted as evidence for flow fluctuations of thermal matter formed in A+A collisions. We present a blast-...
